There is More Than Just Turkey

Thanksgiving presents a perfect opportunity to try out new dishes. Each holiday season, families across the country pull out all the stops to put together the best dinner ever. Here are three suggestions for your Thanksgiving dinner.
Turkey is a staple for every Thanksgiving diet. This bird lives its life to be eaten and is fattened from birth for the sole purpose of sitting on your table. However, in America, “Land of the Free and Home of the Brave,” why take the safe route by buying a turkey? Go all the way on Thanksgiving and make your very own turducken.
This combination of stuffing stuffed into a duck, stuffed into a chicken, stuffed into a turkey is the greatest American food item ever invented. Add some gravy on top, and you will not be able to move after your meal (or for the next week after). After having a turducken for the last few Thanksgiving dinners, I am never going back to the old, bland taste of the turkey.
Mashed Yams with Brown Sugar and Pecans
This sounds disgusting. I was hesitant at first as well. However, this is now my favorite side dish to eat on Thanksgiving. To find the recipe, just Google the bolded words above and prepare to be amazed. This dish sucks all of the nutritional value out of yams and makes them delicious: a perfect combination for Thanksgiving dinner!
Green Beans and Bacon
Once again, why would you ever be health conscious on Thanksgiving? This dish is both healthy (so you don’t feel too guilty) and tasty (what isn’t with bacon?). It is also really easy to make, as all you need to do is cook some green beans and fry up some bacon. It is a staple Thanksgiving dish at the Everest house, and it should be at your house as well.
With these three dishes, you can spice up your Thanksgiving meal and take it to a whole new level! These dishes are true game changers, and I highly recommend you give them a try.
