In October of last year, six exchange students came to Stuart Hall from Denmark. For about three weeks, these exchange students got to experience what Convent and Stuart Hall are like, from the classes to the scrumptious acre lunches. Last time, there were only six students, but later this March, Danish students from the same school, Rungsted Gymnasium, are returning with 31 students.
For this visit, Dr. Jorgensen is setting aside three class periods for the visiting students from Rungsted Gymnasium, where he is an alumnus. These students will be in San Francisco for a week and get a first or second opportunity to explore the city. However, this time the Danish students aren’t going to be shadowing students at Convent and Stuart Hall as this is a school trip and not part of the exchange program. This time, the presence of the Danish students will be more noticeable as this is a school trip, whereas the last time the Danish students came was a small exchange group.
“They are on a school trip, which in Denmark is done twice during high school. They have a program where one day they will visit an American high school to see what it looks like. They will have the opportunity to engage with students in small groups”, says Dr. Jorgensen.
Following an exchange program with Danish students from Rungsted Gymnasium 31 more students from the school will come to Convent and Stuart Hall this March to see what an American high school is like and fully immerse themselves in San Francisco culture. Additionally, there will be fun activities for the visiting students from Denmark thanks to Dr. Jorgensen and his engaging Global Politics activities. Furthermore, six students from Convent and Stuart Hall will be visiting Rungsted Gymnasium from late March to early April.
