This is the second installment of Sam Cormier’s weekly fantasy football updates.

So, I may have made a false claim when I said that Jarryd Hayne was going to be the offensive ROY and fantasy stud this season. So far, that has not been the case. Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota has been leading rookies and the NFL with a passer rating of 111.6 (he is still available in some leagues and I highly recommend picking him up off the waiver wire).

This past week my team, The Hayne Train, sneaked by on a late Monday night win thanks to quarterback Andrew Luck. Luck has been disappointing with five turnovers in the first two games. Although he had a poor week, my team received an unexpected boost from Pittsburgh running back, Deangelo Williams, who posted a surprising 26 points against a strong 49ers run defense. However, I cannot rely on Deangelo to post that amount of points for the rest of the season because Pittsburg star running back Le’veon Bell is coming back to carry the rock. To remedy this, I was able to trade for last year’s rushing champion DeMarco Murray who has gotten off to a slow start, but I think he will vault back into dominance for week three and beyond.

Remember, each week I am coming up with a new team name. This week’s team name is Outta my Hayne which narrowly beat out picking up Reggie Wayne and naming the team the Hayne Wayne.
