During the holidays there are many great things to do such as spending time with family, opening presents, and most importantly watching iconic Christmas movies. Some iconic Christmas movies are the Home Alone Series, Christmas Vacation, Elf, Rudolph, a Christmas Story, and many more. Many people love all of these movies, but most people love one over the other. For me, the top three are Christmas Vacation, Home Alone 1 and 2, and Elf, but as my taste as a Christmas movie connoisseur has grown more mature I’ve gravitated towards Christmas Vacation.
“Elf is my favorite movie to watch during the holidays,” says Mr. Sheehy, which is another Christmas classic. However, in my opinion, movies such as ELF and Home Alone are too overplayed, making them repetitive and not exciting. That’s one of the main reasons I’m a Christmas Vacation Enthusiasts because it’s not as well known, but still a comedic classic.
“Shop Around the Corner” is what Ms. MacGarva said when asked what her favorite Christmas movie is. This is a movie I hadn’t seen or heard of which was a pleasant surprise that everyone wasn’t going to say Home Alone or Elf.
“I love watching Elf, it’s the best Christmas movie” is what junior Ross Tulley said when asked the question of his favorite Christmas movie. Despite being a generic choice, I must admit Elf is a hilarious and entertaining movie all the way through and there’s a reason it’s so many people’s top choice.
In conclusion, there is a variety of high quality Christmas movies to choose from, but there are only a few that most people watch as they are the mainstream Christmas movies that attract the most attention. However, movies like Home Alone 1 and 2 and Elf are still good movies even though some may think they are overplayed.
