After last week’s disappointing loss against the Seattle Seahawks, a divisional rival, the San Francisco 49ers move on to another rival of theirs: the Green Bay Packers. With Jordan Love at center, the Packers have had a great season, with not many injuries to worry about. Love hasn’t been having his best season though, throwing at least one interception every game so far. However, the Packers might have it easier this game then the ones before. The 49ers are flooded with injuries, with star quarterback Brock Purdy, star defensive-end Nick Bosa, and star defensive-back Charvarius “Mooney” Ward all being ruled out. Other important players such as Trent Williams, Jon Felliciano, and Geroge Kittle, are all questionable and are probably going to be game time decisions.
With Brock Pudry out, San Francisco’s back-up quarterback Brandon Allen is the one who will step-up to the helm. Allen’s last meaningful NFL snap was more than two years ago, which worries many Niners fans. Star wide receiver Deebo Samual Sr. has also not looked very good this season, posting career lows in all stat lines. However, through this, what seems to be endless darkness, is a light. The light — Christian McCaffery — is set to make his second start since returning from injury. Niners fans are looking forward to seeing if CMC is fully healed and ready enough to take the primary role in Sunday’s offense.
The 49ers are headed into their toughest couple weeks of their schedule. Through the end of the season they still have to play: the Packers, Bills, Bears, Rams, Dolphins, Lions, and the Cardinals, all very strong teams with tons of potential.
With the ‘9ers playoff chances becoming slimmer and slimmer, the Niners must win as many games as possible to even have hope of making the playoffs. Thank you for reading, and hope to see everyone in the next 49ers update!
