Earlier this fall, Convent & Stuart Hall announced the launch of CareerStart, a new internship program designed to provide sophomores and juniors with opportunities to explore potential career paths and areas of study. The goal of the program is to expose students to professional jobs and help them develop skills necessary for future job success.
Developed and run by parent volunteers, the program will offer students access to internships hosted by parents within the Convent & Stuart Hall community. These internships will last between one and four weeks during the summer of 2025 and will cover a wide range of industries, including technology, marketing, law, and finance. In addition to hands-on experience, CareerStart will help students build professional readiness through workshops on resume building and interviewing. Beyond these practical skills, the program aims to encourage students to reflect on their interests and consider potential college majors and future careers.
This initiative has already sparked enthusiasm among students. “This program is an exciting opportunity in how to prepare for life after high school,” says Stuart Hall junior Conner Lee. Stuart Hall junior Ryder Hsieh echoed this sentiment, stating, “By connecting me with professionals in our own community, I am not only getting exposure to real-world experiences but also building relationships and developing networks.”
With applications set to open on March 28 and strong interest from students, CareerStart is poised for a successful first year. For more details, visit the CareerStart file under the resources tab on the LMS.
