With resumes and cover letters submitted, the next phase of the CareerStart program is about to start. Interviews. With over 30 internship opportunities available for Convent and Stuart Hall sophomores and juniors to consider, students will now start preparing for call backs. While not every applicant will get an invitation to interview, it is still a good idea to start preparing. Review the job description, research the company, hone your story, practice answering common interview questions, and think of questions you want to ask your possible employer. The interview is as much about assessing fit for you as it is the company. So be yourself and know that an interview is an opportunity for you to show who you are beyond the resume. Interviews will be scheduled during the month of April. After the interviews, the waiting might be tough, but the CareerStart leaders anticipate that all internship offers will be finalized and confirmed by May 8. In April and May we can look forward to a career planning and industry panel speaker to round out the program set up by the CareerStart leaders.
“I am excited to be participating in the CareerStart program to help me take the first step in my career journey,” said Maxon Craig, who is interested in pursuing opportunities in finance this summer. Maxon also noted that he is starting to prepare for interviews and says, “the CareerStart leaders have been great about putting together a program that gives students the tools it needs for a strong job search showing. I am excited about the next steps in the internship search: the interviews.”
